We are Christ Church Chester.
As our name suggests, we long for Jesus Christ to be at the heart of who we are and what we do. He is the “cornerstone” of the church. We are:
Learning to Live for Christ; Unite in Christ; Love like Christ
We are a diverse and lively Anglican church, located near the city centre, in the heart of the community of Newtown. We gather each Sunday to worship together, and also meet throughout the week via Connect Groups. These smaller groups provide an opportunity to pray for each other, study the Bible and have fun together.
We are a church made up of people of all ages and stages of life. Children and young people are important to us at Christ Church – we have a Sunday children’s group and youth group, as well as a mid-week toddler group.
We also have regular socials for students and 20s & 30s, as well as events for the whole church community to gather together – often involving some kind of food!
Our vision to ‘Love like Christ’ leads us into activities like our Drop In for the homeless, where we seek to show compassion to some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
We believe that Christ Church does not belong to any of us individually or collectively – we are ‘Christ’s Church’ and we belong to our namesake Jesus Christ.
We’d love to welcome you at Christ Church and get to know you better. If you’ve got a question or would like to get in touch, you can find our contact details here.
