I’m New!

‘I’m new – what do I need to know?’

If you’ve never been to Christ Church before but are thinking of coming along – great! We’d love to see you there! If you’d like to know more about the vision for the church, please click here: Vision for People. In terms of practicalities, there are a few useful things that might be helpful when considering coming to Christ Church:

Services

We have 2 services on Sunday mornings; a more Traditional Service at 9:30am, and a more Contemporary Worship at 11am. Bother services last roughly an hour and a half. Tea, coffee and nibbles are served between the two services, so do please come and make the most of them.

Directions

Christ Church is nestled just outside of Chester city centre in Newtown. You can find us just off Gloucester Street, Newtown, Chester CH1 3HR. For more details, please click here:

Bible in a Year

Holy Trinity Brompton and Nicky Gumbell have put together a resource for making it easier to read the Bible and have a time of daily devotion, called Bible in One Year. The resource is designed to be listened to, making it easy to essentially ‘read’ scripture whilst commuting, working or doing chores. More information and links to download can be found here: https://www.bibleinoneyear.org/

Parking Information

Parking in Newtown itself is tricky during the week, but is fine on a Sunday – parking regulations for the streets around the church are only in effect from 3pm on a Sunday.

Beyond that, there is paid car parking in the Brook Street Car Park 2 minutes walk from the church.

Kid’s Ministry

If you’re likely to be coming along with little ones, that’s not a problem! We have a range of age groups that meet during part of the Sunday services if they’d like to join them. We run three groups during our 11am Sunday Service: Gems (ages 2-6 ) and Rocksolid (ages 7-9), and The Crypt (aged 10+). Leadership Team:

We have a vicar, Graham Shaw, who leads the church, and you can see a welcome from him here. However, the church wouldn’t run without a vast number of volunteers who make church happen. If you are looking to speak to someone specifically, please click here:
